Form gangs

Form yourselves, form others, form bonds Implementing ideas in a collective teaches us how much we still have to learn. Whether it is very practical skills that we can share with one another, or the interpersonal subtleties in communication without to act authoritarian or hurtful. In addition, we have to revitalize the places where we live – with culture, with exchange, with space for ideas. Instead, like more such places can be created by us and the network. Minha Galera from near Cologne already show what that could look like.

Initiate a deep connection with nature and joint healing processes

This article was created in the course of a conversation between Eva Maria Schmitt and Saskia Puterczyk. How do you imagine the world in 20 years? What will be different In 20 years everyone will love our planet earth and have a deep connection with nature. Hm … 20 years is really a short time for such a radical rethinking. I hope that by then we will be able to recognize the wealth in which we live. That we can recognize how gifted we are and that we have established a culture that tells us that it is enough, you

rebuilding a village from the future

Many houses in Pödelwitz are empty, as are those of many other villages, and the ecosystems of the region are severely damaged, just like everywhere else. Only that in Pödelwitz it is probably a little worse. The open-cast mining has not only torn up the earth, it has also eroded and blown away the village community. But even if, like so much else, it almost didn’t survive it: Pödelwitz, with its at least 700 years, existed before capitalism. People lived in Pödelwitz when there were no tomatoes from Spain in the supermarket all year round, no antibiotics in the pharmacy

Rural Aquaculture Development → Training and helping rural families with fish farming (Uganda)

My vision for the world in 20 years time is that women and vulnerable groups in rural Uganda have the access and skills to generate a sustainable income and have enough healthy food to feed their families. People in rural areas will have access to land and the know-how to produce healthy and protein-rich foods on their land. There will be enough knowledge and resources to sustain a healthy diet and prevent malnourishment. I am teaching fish farming skills and technical know-how to local women groups and communities in rural Uganda. I am part of the project Rural Aquaculture Development

Mobility in 2041

Mobility in Europe in twenty years will be completely different. Well-connected railroads and extended public transport links should enable us to dispense with short-haul flights and journeys in barely occupied cars. Political measures will make such types of mobility extremely unattractive: E.g. through appropriate fuel taxation and subsidization of rail and local transport – in many areas this will then be offered at low cost or even free of charge. Decommissioned stations and lines will be reactivated. So will journeys on night trains throughout Europe and beyond. High-speed rail lines will be extended to connect all capitals. There will be

Environmental Education House Johannishoehe, Tharandt, Germany

We are a local educational institution that deals with topics concerning nature protection, environmental education and sustainable, ecological living. The NGO was established by a group of students 30 years ago when they occupied an empty house atop of the small town of Tharandt near Dresden. Our vision for the world in 20 years time is that communities, villages, towns and cities are much more sustainable and ecologically planned, that decision makers such as mayors & city councils, institutions such as universities and companies have ecological and social issues always on their mind when planning physical and psychological infrastructures. To

Politik Mitgestalten

Der Weg aus der selbstverschuldeten Unmündigkeit verläuft zwingend über die aktive Teilnahme jeder und jedes Einzelnen an der Gestaltung von Gesellschaft. Mehr Demokratie ist deshalb nicht nur eine politische Forderung, sondern vor allem auch eine innere Haltung. Politik mitgestalten In Stadt, Gemeinde oder Kreis gibt es Möglichkeiten, Planungsprozesse so mitzugestalten, dass auf Entwicklung statt auf Wachstum gesetzt wird. Manchmal genügt dabei die Information, um einfache Verbesserungen umzusetzen. Um strategische Weichenstellungen wird bei der Aufstellung von Flächennutzungsplänen, Stadtentwicklungskonzepten und Verkehrsentwicklungsplänen gerungen. Auch daran beteiligen sich Bürger_innen. Sie rufen bei ihren Ratsmitgliedern an und fragen nach; stellen fest, dass Fraktionen Akteneinsichtsrecht haben;

Food Coop
